If You Can't Swat 'Em, Join 'Em
I made a grand and valiant try
To kill a loudly buzzing fly,
But alas, could only swat and miss
Within our home-sweet-edifice.
The fly, which managed to avoid
A swatter growing more annoyed,
Eventually escaped from view
To parts I knew not whereunto.
My failure to subdue my foe
Reminded me that this I know:
I'm destined not to always win
At all things in this life I'm in.
Thus one might think, on contemplation,
I'd well believe in reincarnation,
Assured of better next time I
Return to life here … as a fly.
