WHOEVER LOOKS AT THE CLOUDS (Ecclesiastes 11)

Cast your bread on water, for after many days
You'll find it returning--in many ways.
Share a bite with others; you'll see that it pays:
            Whoever looks at the clouds will not reap…
            Whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.

If the clouds are black and gray, the rain will soon begin;
Whether a tree falls south or north, it'll never stand again!
You will not plant if you are watching the wind:
            Whoever looks at the clouds will not reap…
            Whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.

[Interlude:  Deep Theological Duel, er, Duet]
(Voice 1, Voice 2)
            Doodle-oodle-ee-doot-doo,
            Doo-doot-doot-doot-doo…
                       …doo-doot-deet-dit-da-dah?
            Doodle-oodle-ee-doot-doo, doodle-oot-doo…
                        …doo-doot-deet-dit-da-dahdle-ee-dah—!
            Doodle-oodle-ee-doot-doo, doo-doot-doot-doot-d’doo –
                        D’doodle-dah-dle-ee, deedle-ee, dahdle-ee, dah?
            Dee-doodle-dah-dle-ee, deedle-ee, dah—
                        Dah-dot-dot-dot-doddle-uh-dow!!
            Dee-doodle-dah-dle-ee, deedle-ee, dah…
                        …dah-dle-ee-dum…
            Dee-doodle-dah-dle-ee, deedle-ee, dum.
[Theological issues seems to have been resolved now; on to verse 2…]

Sow your seed in the morning, when it first gets light;
Don't let your hands be idle--even at night;
You don't know which crop will fail, and which will do all right:
            Whoever looks at the clouds will not reap…
            Whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.

If the clouds are black and gray, the rain will soon begin;
Whether a tree falls south or north, it'll never stand again!
You will not plant if you are watching the wind:
            Whoever looks at the clouds will not reap—
                        Dah-dot-dot-dot-doddle-uh-dow!!
            Whoever looks at the clouds will not reap…
                        …dah-dle-ee-dum.
            Whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.
